My name is Galit and I am contacting you since my husband and I have found ourselves in a dire situation that requires significant help and support for us to continue.

I met my beloved husband 22 years ago. 17 years ago we decided to get married. My husband is a special person, with a huge heart, the perfect family man, someone who always is helping others. I know it sounds like a cliché but he truly is an exceptional individual. Together we are raising 5 children of ages 16, 14, 12, 8 and 5.

Everything was just wonderful until 20 months ago when our world came crashing down on us. Jim (Dimitrios) was diagnosed with a serious chronic kidney disease that it is acute and he is in critical condition. To stay alive, he needs to perform dialysis on a daily basis, however, his condition is deteriorating gradually and his bodily functions are impacted – the heart, liver, vascular system and many more difficult ailments. His ability to work has been affected and he finds it difficult even to take part in our family life that he is so devoted to. The only thing that can save his life is a kidney transplant.

After a long wait, we have been finally notified of a suitable donor and we are in the final stages before the transplant surgery. Currently, to perform the transplant operation and save Jim’s life, our biggest challenge is to raise the sum of $200,000 USD to cover all costs associated with the surgery and recovery, alongside with hosting the donor whom is travelling from abroad (Israel).
